A NORTHWICH man caught behind the wheel while almost four times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads.
Jack Morgan, of Briar Lane, Weaverham, was driving a BMW along Hefferston Rise in Gorstage on June 13 earlier this year when he was stopped.
A subsequent breath test revealed the 28-year-old had 129 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Morgan pleaded guilty to drink-driving on July 23, when he was given an interim driving ban, before appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on August 23, for sentencing.
Taking his plea into account, magistrates handed Morgan a 12-month community order.
As part of this order, he must complete 150 hours of unpaid work within the next year.
The bench also disqualified him from driving for 30 months, beginning when the interim ban was imposed.
Morgan can reduce his ban by 30 weeks if he completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course.
