MID Cheshire’s MP has been discussing a recycling company’s plans for a greener future.
Andrew Cooper met with staff at Winsford-based Clearfield Envirotech to discuss the business’ role in creating a cleaner and greener environment.
Speaking about the visit, Mr Cooper said: “It was pleasing to visit a burgeoning company with plans for future growth and one which is committed to sustainability and improving the environment.
“I was also pleased to learn the company is a member of the British Plastic Federation and has applied for an Environment Agency permit.”
The firm has been based at Winsford Industrial Estate since August last year and employs around 30 people, with plans to expand further.
Clearfield recycles various plastics and cardboard, sorting them into material at the depot, ready for use in manufacturing.
The company’s website states: “As we approach 2025, it's crucial for everyone to recognize the imminent changes in waste management policies, particularly regarding landfill taxes.
“With the ever-increasing landfill tax, it's more important than ever for individuals and businesses to take proactive measures in waste sorting.
“By sorting waste at the source, separating recyclables from non-recyclables, you are not only reducing the amount of waste destined for landfills but also minimise the financial burden imposed by landfill taxes.
“This not only helps to mitigate environmental degradation but also promotes a more sustainable and cost-effective solution to waste management.
“Being ahead of the curve and sorting your waste now not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also saves money in the long run!”
