THE opening date of a new restaurant has been confirmed.
Terrarium will swing open its doors on Tarporley’s high street in September.
Created by the team at the neighbouring craft beer bar Little Tap, the new venue will take over the food side of the business.
“It’s great to see the launch of the project in sight,” said owner, Myles Carr.
“We are so excited to reveal what we have been working on, it’s been a real journey which makes it even more special.
“Everyone’s support and excitement really does mean a great deal.”
In November last year, Myles signed the lease to a new unit just across the road from Little Tap, which most recently home to clothing boutique Rebel and Rain.
Myles set out to raise £100,000 to help fund the project.
It took little more than two weeks to smash this target, with 432 backers pledging a total of £111,653.
It was initially hoped that Terrarium would be ready to open in time for the summer.
However, a few unexpected delays occurred and the restaurant will now open on September 4.
Providing an update in July, Myles said: “We have had a bit of a difficult time to get to where we are now.
“We’re on a much better route to opening but it’s not going to be as soon as we’d hoped.
“I’m literally doing everything I can to get open as soon as we can, no one wants it more than me.
“We have experienced some more delays with things like gas metres and production of some of the equipment we’re using in the kitchen.”
Little Tap’s food service came to an end on Sunday (August 18) ahead of Terrarium’s opening.
Myles said: “Eight years of small plates, local suppliers, changing menus and beaut wine dinners.
“I think I owe the kitchen a huge thank you for their brilliance and innovation.
“Keeping our menus exciting and different.”
On what people can expect when it opens, Myles added: “A terrarium is a self-contained ecosystem, a bubble if you will, and that’s what we want to create. A space that you can come and eat amazing food, drink beautiful drinks and socialise in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.
“Terrarium will be a new restaurant, in our second site, inspired by what we have created at Little Tap and allow us to offer more of a dining experience to really showcase our food and free up Little Tap, to offer more flexibility on social drinks.”
Bookings for Terrarium will open later this week.
