Longworths salon up for sale after owner's 'retirement'

Longworths Family Hair Centre in Lostock Gralam has been put up for sale.

It comes following the current owner’s ‘retirement’, with the premises priced at £250,000.

The listing, published by Savills estate agents, reads: “For sale due to retirement, this well designed, extended two-storey salon premises occupies a corner position with car park for at least 13 vehicles opposite.

“Currently comprising gentleman’s and lady’s hairdressing salons on the ground floor with beauty treatment rooms on the first floor, the premises and car park have potential for other uses, subject to any necessary planning permissions.”

Longworths is located on Station Road, opposite St John the Evangelist Church.

While the listing states the owner is retiring, a post on the Longworths Barbershop Facebook page suggests it may still open one day a week only.

The post read: “Hi everyone, just a quick note to let you all know that I have decided to change jobs!

“From August 19, I will no longer be a gentleman’s barber Monday to Saturday!

“However, for those clients wishing to continue with my services, I could be available on Sundays only between 8.30am and 4.30pm at Longworths, if required.”
