NEIGHBOURS were evacuated after a house fire.
Emergency services were called to Weaverham on Monday night (August 19) following reports of a house fire.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two engines, one each from the Northwich and Winsford stations, to the scene on Ash Grove.
Upon arrival, at 7.14pm, the crews found a fire in a bathroom, with neighbouring properties evacuated as a result.
A CFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish a fire in a bathroom, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
“It is reported that no one was home at the time.
“Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.”
Cheshire Police were also in attendance, closing nearby Walnut Avenue as the incident was dealt with.
“At around 7.15pm on Monday, police were called to reports of a fire at an address in Ash Grove, Weaverham,” a spokesperson said.
“A temporary road closure was put in place on Walnut Avenue and a small number of neighbouring addresses were evacuated as a precaution.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
