POLICE had to be called after a two-vehicle crash which saw a car plough into a hedge.

Officers were dispatched to the A54 crossroads on Chester Road in Delamere following the collision in Fishpool Road shortly before 7pm yesterday (August 18).

On arrival, it was discovered the crash had involved a car and a van, with the former found to have hit a hedge.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said no-one is believed to have been injured in the incident, which occurred near the popular Fishpool Inn pub.

She said: "At 6.52pm on August 18, police were called to a collision involving a car and a van in Fishpool Road, Delamere.

"The collision was near the crossroads.

"A car had left the road and collided with a hedge and the van was blocking the road.

"No-one is thought to have been injured and both vehicles were removed from the road."
