A HIGH school is looking to build a new car park.
Weaverham High School has submitted a planning application to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The application is for a new 28-space car park, which if approved will be built next to the existing tennis courts.
“We are proposing to develop an area within the front of our school to allow us to install 28 new car parking spaces,” reads the application.
“We are proposing to use a geogrid system infilled with grass and wildflowers.”
“The area at the front of our school is unused and not accessible to pupils as it is outside our safeguarding fence line.”
The application was formally validated by Cheshire West and Chester Council on Wednesday (August 14).
If approved, the new car park would take the school’s overall number of parking spaces from 109 to 137.
Meanwhile, some of the existing places would be altered, creating an accessible parking space as well as an electric charging facility.
Members of the public have until September 5 to submit any comments.
