A FUNDRAISING husband and wife have been praised for their efforts.

Redwalls Nursing Home in Sandiway has paid a special thank you to Northwich couple, Rob and Mo Murphy.

Rob’s dad Bob, known as Bobo to the family, was a resident at Redwalls until his death in 2021.

Wanting to show their appreciation for the love and care shown to Bobo, Rob and Mo set about raising money for the home, bringing in nearly £5,000 so far.

Rob said: “It is great to support Redwalls Nursing Home after the care and compassion all the team gave to dad.

“Redwalls is a lovely home and we have enjoyed fundraising on behalf of the home and look forward to continuing supporting the home in years to come.”

Rob added: “A special thanks needs to go to my wonderful wife Mo, who is very much the driving force behind all the fundraising we do, without her hard work and determination we would not have raised so much!”

Over the last 12 months alone Rob and Mo have raised £2,000, bringing their total raised since Bobo’s death to £4,800.

This has been achieved through a number of fundraising activities around the local area, including a bingo event held at Redwalls as part of Care Home Open Week.

All of the money raised is being put to good use by the home to provide more activities and events for the benefit of the residents, including trips to Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium.

Funds raised have also been used to purchase doughnut and candy floss-making machines.

Rob and Mo’s donations also paid for a range of farm animals to visit the home, providing therapy for staff and residents, as well as visiting children from Small World Nursery.

Redwalls Nursing Home is part of the Kingsley Healthcare group of homes.

The company’s regional operations director Pauline Parker-Moore said: “We would like to thank Rob and Mo for all the support they have given to Redwalls Nursing Home and in particular for the considerable time they have given in raising £4,800 for the home which has already been put to good use for the benefit of residents.

“We hope that this wonderful link which has been created with yourself and all the team as Redwalls will continue for many years to come.”
