MONSTERS have come out from under the bed.

Pupils at Victoria Road Primary School in Northwich have been taking part in the nationwide Monster Madness competition.

Organised by Young Artists, the contest saw children across the country come up with their own monsters during lunch times and after-school clubs.

Head girl Arohi Rae was chosen as the school’s overall winner and will see her design published on the front cover of one of the Monster Madness books.

Head of school Sue Minor said: "We are very proud of all the pupils who enter these competitions and showcase their creative skills.

“We must also thank our after-school club and play lead, Miss (Rebecca) Dutton, who organises this for the children."

Young Artists run national art competitions for clubs for children in wraparound care as well as those attending extracurricular activities.

Due to the popularity of last year’s Monster Madness competition, they decided to open this year’s up to schools, as well as creating a special coemption just for reception-age pupils.

The children’s creations are then shared in a book, with the best artwork being displayed on the front cover.

As they received thousands of entries, Young Artists have published multiple books this year, with all of the front cover winners receiving a goody bag full of art supplies.
