FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a chimney fire at a house in Barnton.
One fire engine from Northwich and an aerial ladder platform crew from Lymm responded to an emergency call to Nursery Road at 11.37am on Tuesday, July 23.
Firefighters put out a fire in the grate before inspecting the flue from the inside of the building, while the ladder crew checked the chimney stack from the outside.
They also checked the chimney from inside via the attic after assessing the roof space for smoke.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On Tuesday, July 23, fire crews were called out to a chimney fire in Barnton.
“A small fire in the grate was extinguished as smoke was issuing from wall vents.
“The aerial ladder platform was used to check the external chimney stack and a thorough stack inspection was undertaken internally.
“The attic was also checked for heat and smoke.”
