BEER lovers are set to flock to one of Northwich’s most iconic venues.
The Plaza has announced it is to host its first-ever beer festival.
Taking place later this year, Craft at the Plaza is being run in partnership with local independent nano brewery, Hush Brewing.
Co-owner Chris Birtwistle is delighted to see this come to fruition, with the idea having been in the works for some time.
He said: “We love going to festivals and wanted to bring some of the atmosphere we see at those events to Northwich.
“We're really looking forward to it! We've invited some great craft breweries and are blown away by how many have said yes.
“We're really excited to start to release some of the names in the coming weeks.
“Each brewery will be bringing a few beers so I would expect 30-plus beers.”
Eight different breweries will be in attendance at the festival in November.
Alongside beers, guests can enjoy a variety of food vendors and live music, with both acoustic acts and DJs set to take to the stage.
Hush will also be looking to run talks and tasting sessions on the night.
John Houghton, manager at the Plaza, is pleased to strengthen the Witton Street venue’s connection with the Hush team.
He said: “We are extremely excited to be working with the awesome team over at Hush Brewing Co to bring the first-ever beer festival to the Plaza!
“We're keen supporters of Hush's works, with their beers being served on our bars for every event.
“Chris Birtwistle and Simon Appleton (owners of Hush) have been great supporters of the Plaza, and we've been thinking about a collaboration for some time.
“We're all extremely proud of what we've got planned and can't wait to announce our brewery lineup!”
Craft at the Plaza will take place across two sessions on Saturday (November 9), the first running from 11.30am to 4pm.
The evening session, 5pm to 10pm, is for over 18s only.
Tickets, which are priced at £10, include a free limited-edition glass.
