A HOUSING association has added almost 90 more homes to its portfolio across Cheshire.

Weaver Vale Housing Trust (WVHT) has acquired 89 properties from Auxesia Homes, a private housing provider operating across northern England.

The acquisition of the homes, some of which are in Moulton, Kelsall and Wilmslow, now means the trust owns more than 6,500 throughout the county.

A mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership, the homes are all high-quality recently built homes.

Wayne Gales, the chief executive at WVHT, said: "Everyone deserves a place to call home and we are thrilled to have welcomed 89 new households to the trust.

"Bringing these new homes into Weaver Vale, we along with our shared ownership brand 'Prospa Homes', are on track to deliver our commitment to add 500 much needed new affordable homes into our management over the next five years to help meet the ever-growing demand across Cheshire.

"We are committed to delivering sustainable, high-quality homes that meet the needs of the communities in which we work and making a positive impact locally.”

The transfer of the homes to the trust means the new customers will benefit from having a locally-based housing provider as their landlord and will be able to access the range of services the trust offers to its customers.

Ryan Blair, chief operating officer at Auxesia Homes, added: "We are pleased to have completed the transfer of homes to Weaver Vale Housing Trust, allowing us to reinvest the proceeds into additional high quality, safe, energy-efficient homes across the north of England.

"We are committed to our mission of providing additional supply of affordable homes each year and continue to support public service workers in their search of an affordable new-build home in places that they want to live.

"We consider Weaver Vale Housing Trust to be a highly credible and trusted housing association who will continue to support the needs and consider the interests of the residents."

Other locations of the homes include Bunbury, Nantwich, Tattenhall, Chester, Crewe, Lymm, Congleton, and Alsager.
