A SPECIAL tea party event has helped to bring isolated members of the community together for a fun day out.

The Busy Being Together Club (BBTC) hosted a summer tea party on Thursday, July 11, at Northwich Rugby Club.

BBTC was launched in early 2023 by the Social Prescribing Team of the Northwich Primary Care Network as a way of connecting people who find it difficult to go out in the community.

Funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council, BBTC provides quarterly activity packs and monthly wellbeing calls.

This year it will host two in-person get togethers, the first being this week's summer tea party, which was praised by attendees.

Lead social prescriber Donna Webber said: "There has been lots of great feedback about the event, including some saying it 'really lifted their spirits' and describing it as 'brilliant event'.

"Some people told us they very rarely go out so the event was really special.

"One lady said she looks forward to her quarterly pack arriving. When it arrives, she sits down with a cup of tea and has a good look through to see what’s new, and loves reading about what other people have have been doing.

"Our hosts at the Northwich Rugby club were brilliant, and our vintage afternoon tea was excellent, and we couldn’t have done it with the transport offering by Northwich Rotary.

"We’re now looking forward to our Christmas in-person event."
