DRIVERS are being warned of four-week road closure in Winsford and a 10-mile diversion while the council does 'propping’ works to a grade-II listed bridge.
Work to restore Darnhall Bridge on Hall Lane will start on Monday, July 29, and will be closed to all traffic as contractors are working.
However on Sundays, and before 8am and after 5pm, pedestrians and cyclists will be allowed to cross the bridge.
A diversion of around ten miles will be in place via the villages of Wettenhall and Church Minshall for the duration of the closure.
The bridge was also closed for five week in February 2023 while traffic lights were installed.
CWAC’s deputy leader, Cllr Karen Shore, said: “These works are essential so the grade-II listed bridge can remain in use.
“It will include propping the bridge wall, kerbing, and drainage.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this road closure.”
