DEVA Fest is launching a new campaign amid a wave of UK festival cancellations.

The Cholmondeley Castle music festival is stepping up to offer a lifeline to festivalgoers affected by disruption.

It comes as the Association of Independent Festivals reports that 50 festivals have already been cancelled in 2024, including Northwich’s Geronimo Festival which was due to take place in August.

Despite facing its own challenges with rising costs and supplier issues, Deva Fest is confident of putting on a memorable event next month – August 8 to 11.

Phil Marston, owner of Deva Fest, said: “Festivals are a cornerstone of UK culture, shaping the summer for countless people.

"We are at risk of losing the vibrant diversity of our festival landscape, leaving only large, internationally-backed events able to survive.

“Through the ‘Save Our Summer’ campaign, we hope to keep the festival experience accessible and support the many independent festivals that contribute so much to our communities.

“We hope guests will continue to get behind independent events and show their support where they can."

The Save Our Summer campaign will offer a 20 per cent discount on Deva Fest tickets to anyone holding proof of purchase from a cancelled festival.

Those who attend can enjoy headline sets from The Human League, Ocean Colour Scene and The Coral.

There will also be performances from Symphonic Ibiza, Rebecca Ferguson, East 17, and Sleeper, among others spread across five stages.

Away from the music, crowds can partake in circus workshops, enjoy free unlimited fairground rides, and try their hand at water sports.

Younger visitors can look forward to the ‘Kaleidoscope Kingdom’ – a family-friendly fun zone featuring inflatables, dodgeball, NEF battles, storytelling, and more.

Meanwhile, festivalgoers will be able to explore Cholmondeley Castle Gardens as part of their festival ticket.
