THOUSANDS of festivalgoers flocked to Cheshire for the debut of a new summer festival.
Brit Fest enjoyed a triumphant start to life as it welcomed 15,000 people to Ashley Hall Showground in Altrincham over the weekend.
As a result of this success, organisers Olivier-nominated brothers Anthony and Edward Prophet have already confirmed the dates for 2025.
Anthony said: “An absolutely brilliant festival weekend, with a fantastic atmosphere in the showground, and we were particularly struck by the sense of unity and community among the crowds enjoying themselves right across the whole site.
“Staging a celebration like The Brit Fest – bringing a festival to our community of Altrincham and creating lifetime memories - has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. And we were proud to be able to offer such a strong programme for our inaugural event.
“It’s also a great base from which to plan our future festivals – I am pleased to announce that The Brit Fest will return in 2025!”
Spread across a 100-acre site, the inaugural Brit Fest kicked off on Friday (July 5) with Scouting for Girls taking to the main stage.
Bonnie Tyler topped the bill on Saturday before Heather Small brought the party to a close on Sunday.
The likes of T’Pau, Nik Kershaw, Kim Wilde, Paul Young, Sonia, Deniece Pearson and Owen Paul also took to the stage, along with appearances from artists such as The Real Thing, Cast, Dodgy, The Feeling, Fleur East, Hot Chocolate, Starsailor and Reef.
There was also a full programme of bands, choirs, DJs, solo acts, cover outfits, authors, wellness experts and motivational speakers on the site’s ABC+ Warranty Stage.
Away from the music, festivalgoers could enjoy a wide variety of entertainment, from vintage fairground rides and an artisan market to yoga sessions and an extreme mountain bike show.
The Brit Fest will return in 2025 from Friday (July 4) to Sunday (July 6).
