AWARD-WINNING artwork by primary school kids is being turned into a permanent exhibition at Northwich railway station.

Art by the talented students of Moulton Primary School and Witton Church Walk Primary School jointly scooped the ‘People’s Choice’ award at this year’s Visual Arts Cheshire (VAC) Primary Schools’ Exhibition at Barons Quay.

The theme of the show was ‘a sense of place’, and saw entries celebrating Northwich and the surrounding area.

Staff and pupils from the schools attended VAC’s Baron’s Quay gallery on Saturday, July 4, to receive their award.

Their work will now be made into railway posters for a permanent display at Northwich railway station, welcoming visitors to the town.

VAC’s Phil Carswell, who co-ordinates the primary schools' awards, said: “Each year, the standard of work from schools in the Northwich Education Partnership gets better and better.

“’We’re grateful to Barons Quay management for supporting our gallery and this event, and to Northwich BID for their continued support and funding the prizes.”
