A TOILET block in Weaverham has gone up for sale.
The old public restroom on Church Street has hit the market.
Priced at £100,000, the property has ‘full planning permission’ to be extended and turned into an office.
The listing, by estate agent Morgans of Cheshire, reads: “Weaverham's former public convenience has been granted full planning permission for extension and conversion into an office with two parking spaces.
“In a prime village location with a free 24-hour public car park opposite and outstanding commuter links by road and rail, it offers a rare opportunity for a business owner or investor alike.”
The previously Cheshire West and Chester Council-owned public toilets were closed more than a decade ago due to anti-social behaviour.
In August 2021, the site was sold via an online auction for £61,000 – more than six times the guide price of £10,000.
A spokesperson for the council said at the time that proceeds from the sale would ‘form part of the general capital receipts that fund the council’s overall capital programme’.
In July 2023 planning permission was granted to turn the toilet block into offices.
The property is now back up for sale, priced at £100,000 - ten times the guide price given to it just three years ago.
