A COMEDY show has been cancelled at late notice.
Harlequin Theatre in Northwich has announced it has pulled its Fringe preview weekend.
The decision comes amid low ticket sales.
A spokesperson for the venue said: “Unfortunately our Fringe comedy weekend has been cancelled due to low ticket sales.
“We apologise to those who bought tickets and you should have received an email prior to reading this post regarding your refunds.
“We don't like to cancel events and try our best not to do this as we do need events like this to keep the theatre going.”
Harlequin Theatre on Queen Street began hosting comedy nights in November 2023, and they have largely proven to be a big success.
The venue was planning to welcome a host of comedians next weekend as they prepare for the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe in August.
Martin Mor and Rob Mulholland were due to perform on Friday (July 12) ahead of sets from Michelle Shaugnessy and Freddy Quinne on Saturday (July 13).
However, both of these shows have now been cancelled and anyone who already purchased tickets should have been contacted by the theatre regarding refunds.
