A 31-YEAR-OLD man from Northwich who was reported missing died after being hit by a HGV, the court heard.
Jonathan Brown was hit by the lorry on A556 in Lostock Gralam on June 18.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.55am where Mr Brown, who was from Northwich, sadly died.
On Wednesday, an inquest into his death was formally opened by senior coroner for Cheshire Jacqueline Devonish at Warrington Coroner’s Court.
Ms Devonish said that an inquest was required due to Mr Brown being involved in a road traffic collision and set an inquest date for October.
Following the incident last month, Cheshire Police made an appeal for information and urged anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
A police spokesman said: "Officers investigating the collision are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage that may help them establish the circumstances to contact them on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk//tell-us quoting IML 1849884."
