POLICE are investigating an assault at a Winsford pub.

A 31-year-old man was punched in the face as he was coming out of the toilets at the Hive.

The victim says he had been visiting the pub with friends on Friday (May 31) when he was assaulted by an unknown individual.

He suffered multiple fractures to his cheek and eye socket as a result of the attack.

As part of the investigation, officers have now released CCTV images of a man they are looking to identify.

Detective Constable Kelly Mitchell, of Northwich CID, said: “The victim in this case sustained serious injuries and we are keen to hear from anyone with any information that may aid our investigation.

“We would also like to speak to the man in the CCTV images as we believe that he may be able to assist.”
