A DISUSED farm building was set on fire 'deliberately'.

Cheshire Police are investigating a potential arson incident in Winsford.

Emergency services were called to Rilshaw Lane shortly before 7pm on Tuesday (June 18) amid reports of an outbuilding on fire.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine, from the Winsford station, to the scene.

A spokesperson said: “A hose reel jet was used by firefighters to put out a fire involving a disused outbuilding measuring approximately 15 square metres.

“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately and police were informed and attended the scene.”

A Cheshire Police spokesperson added: “At around 7pm on Tuesday police were made aware of a fire in a disused farm building on Rilshaw Lane, Winsford.

“Police and fire attended the scene and the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML-1850402.”
