THREE people have been taken to hospital following a crash.
Emergency services were called to Delamere yesterday following reports of a crash along the A556 Chester Road.
The collision involved two cars, one of which caught fire and had to be extinguished by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service crews.
Speaking at 6pm on Monday (June 17), a spokesperson for the fire service said: “Shortly after 4.30pm, North West Fire Control received multiple calls reporting a serious road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
“Crews were deployed to the scene and wearing breathing apparatus have extinguished a fire involving one of the cars.
“They and colleagues from North West Ambulance Service treated three casualties.
“The casualties have been taken to hospital and one fire engine remains on the scene to assist with clear up.”
The A556 was closed in both directions as a result of the crash, causing heavy traffic in the area.
Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for further information.
