STING and a host of world-class musicians rocked out at Delamere Forest.

The popular beauty spot hosted the first weekend of this summer’s Forest Live, a series of concerts put on by Forestry England.

Brit Award winner singer Becky Hill, Canadian superstar Bryan Adams and rock and roll hall of famer Nile Rogers also took to the stage over the weekend.

Rhodri Jones, national events programme manager at Forestry England, said: “We couldn't have hoped for a better start to this year's Forest Live here at Delamere Forest.

“It was one of the best lineups we've ever had, and the audiences brought an energy and enthusiasm to match the occasion.

“Delamere has set a high bar for the other sites to match!"

Forest Live at Delamere was just the start of what is set to be a very busy summer for Forestry England.

Next week, the government agency will put on shows at Sherwood Pines, Dalby Forest and Thetford Forest.

Sting, Bryan Adams and Nile Rogers will all be back on the mic, with a few other famous faces joining them.

Lead singer of The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, and chart-topping singer Anne-Marie complete the lineups at Dalby and Sherwood respectively.

Meanwhile, audiences in Thetford can look forward to sets from Olly Murs, Paloma Faith and Tom Jones.

Later this month, Northwich’s own Tim Burgess will perform at Cannock Chase Forest with The Charlatans, joined on stage by Johnny Marr, who rose to fame with The Smiths.

In July, festivities move down south to Westonbirt Arboretum with performances from the likes of Gregory Porter, Van Morrison and The Corrs.
