ARMED police swooped in on a residential road.
Cheshire Police were called to Rudheath in the early hours of this morning following concerns for a man’s welfare at a property on Nicholas Avenue.
A helicopter and the firearms unit were both deployed as an arrest was made in relation to malicious communication offences.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Shortly after 2am on Monday (June 17) police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man at an address on Nicholas Avenue, Rudheath.
“Local officers, supported by the firearms unit, attended the scene and a 25-year-old man was located safe and well.
“The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of malicious communication offences. He remains in custody at this time.”
Neighbours reported seeing around a dozen police cars, including a riot van, in the area as well as a police helicopter flying overhead.
“Thought it was coming into my bedroom it was so loud,” said one resident.
