A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl is now the third generation of women in her family to shave their heads for an end of life charity.

Jasmine Newbury’s grandad, Alistair Davies, died of cancer three years before she was born, but the big-hearted schoolgirl decided she wanted to follow in her mum and grandma’s footsteps.

She got her buzzcut at Burdett’s Barbers in Northwich during the last school half term, and as a bonus, her fundraising work will also go towards her Brownies charity badge.

The Hartford Manor pupil was aiming to raise £1,000 for Marie Curie, but she’s now exceeded it by quite some way.

In fact, she’s even exceeded her mum Abi Newbury’s previous fundraising record, scooping a total of £1,435 for the charity.

Jasmine, from Hartford, thanks her contributors via her JustGiving page, where she expressed her delight at ‘beating her mum'.

Proud mum Abi said: “It’s going to be a lot less maintenance at least, with no last-minute hairstyling as we’re trying to leave for school."

Hayley Revell, community fundraiser at Marie Curie, said: “Jasmine’s incredible fundraising efforts for Marie Curie are truly inspiring. Her dedication and enthusiasm are infectious.

“I’d like to thank her and her family for all their wonderful support which helps Marie Curie continue to provide expert end-of-life care and support for people with any illness they’re likely to die from.”
