EYES are already turning to 2025 following the success of a Northwich festival.

Rain did little to dampen spirits as the Verdin Park Music Festival made a welcome return.

Crowds were treated to funfair rides, DJs and even an ABBA tribute band over the course of the weekend.

Chris Shaw, chief officer of Northwich Town Council, who organised the event, said: “Verdin Park Music Festival was a fantastic weekend which was really well attended, we were lucky with the weather on Friday and Saturday with large crowds enjoying the music and food.

“Unfortunately, Sunday turned wet which deterred people from attending but we still had a really good crowd until late afternoon.”

Kim Smith, from Radio Northwich, added: “Thank you Northwich Town Council for all your hard work.

“Thank you to the artists that graced the stage and kept us singing and dancing all weekend.

“Felt very proud to be part of it with Radio Northwich.

“It was a brilliant weekend.”

Friday saw two fantastic performances, the first from ABBA tribute UK Bjorn before a headline set from Electromantics.

A busy line-up on Saturday included a local talent show, ska music and a Simple Minds tribute.

Rare Vitamin Records’ Annual Diversion then brought the festival to a close on a rain-hit Sunday.

On top of all this, festivalgoers could enjoy funfair rides and plenty of food and drink options.

With another successful event in the books, eyes are quickly turning to 2025.

Mr Shaw added: “A massive thank you to all the volunteers, suppliers, bands and staff who helped make this music festival the best one yet.

“We will have a debrief and go through how we can improve for next year to make it bigger and better.

“Finally, thank you to the community that came out and supported another event in Northwich, working with our partners we continue to deliver free events for our residents throughout the year.”
