BEGGARS have been spotted hanging around cash machines in Northwich.
Police have taken action following reports of two men waiting by cashpoints in the town centre and asking for money.
Officers carried out patrols on Thursday afternoon (June 6) and advised not to give these people any money.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of two males hanging around cashpoints within Northwich town centre asking people for money , who had just withdrawn money from the cashpoint.
“Patrols were completed and PCSO Lee Robertson spoke to workers within one of the banks that was involved.
“The staff advised that the males had now left the area and CCTV was checked.”
They added: “We do advise if you are using a cashpoint and there are people hanging around who make you uncomfortable, then please go inside and use the counters inside the bank and advise the staff about the issue, who will then contact 101.
“If you are approached for money after withdrawing - please do not provide them with any and please contact 101.”
