IN honour of national fish and chips day we wanted to know where in Mid Cheshire serves the best British tradition.

What makes a good serving of fish and chips?

Is it the crispy batter surrounding the flaky fish teamed with perfectly cooked chips?

Do you add mushy peas or gravy or curry sauce?

Do they taste better when you eat them out of yesterday’s newspapers?

So far in our Best of 2024 competition, we’ve given out six awards in Mid Cheshire:

Best for Hair – Fox Hairdressing

Best for Pies – JD’s Café

Best for Nails – Blue Beauty Cheshire

Best for Roast Dinner – The Bowling Green

Best for Cocktails – The Grape and Bean

Best for Breakfast – Zaza Café Bar

This week, it’s fish and chips and now we need your help to choose the winner from our ten shortlisted nominees.

There are three ways to vote:

1. Search for the Best for Fish and Chips shortlists post on our Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich, and Knutsford Facebook and X (Twitter) pages and comment under the post with the name of your winner = 1 vote
