A FORMER Middlewich High School student and the all-male dance troupe he is part of have narrowly missed out on a place in the Britain's Got Talent final.
Daniel Jackson and the Phoenix Boys, whose members hail from all over the UK, wowed the judges in their audition with Bruno Tonioli smashing the Golden Buzzer to send them straight through to the semi-finals.
And last night (Thursday), the Phoenix Boys put on a 'beautiful' performance which brought the crowd to their feet and the former Strictly Come Dancing judge to tears.
But despite their efforts, the boys were unable to secure a place in the final, losing out to the Northants Sings Out choir on the public vote following a split decision by the judges.
After the decision was announced, co-host Ant McPartlin said: "Huge congratulations to Northants Sings Out, but can we say a massive commiserations to the Phoenix Boys.
“We love you, the crowd love you, our judges loved you but it was just too close to call.
“This isn’t the last we’ll see of the Phoenix Boys.”
Earlier in the show, the boys - all dressed in white - had put on a stunning routine, set to a cover of 'You're the Voice' by John Farnham.
When the time came to decide who would make the final, Bruno voted for the Phoenix Boys before Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden both chose Northants Sings Out.
Head judge Simon Cowell made it a split decision, casting his vote for the boys.
This meant act with the most public votes on the night would go through to the final, with Northants Sings Out taking the final spot.
Following their performance, judge Bruno said: "I felt like I was in heaven surrounded by angels.
"That was so beautiful, so inspired. The choreography was superb, the choreographer did a fantastic job.
"I am so proud of you, I'm speechless - brilliant."
Alesha added: "It was so poetic. You covered the space so well, I tried to look at every single one of you.
"I could really feel your passion. You've done yourselves proud and done Bruno proud. I loved it, well done."
Amanda said: "For me it was about the message and beauty of the entire dance. The staging was gorgeous, the choreography - perfection.
"And I could feel how much it meant to all of you. Every single one of you cared very deeply about what you were doing. A really gorgeous performance, well done."
Simon added: "I am unbelievably proud of all of you. With an audience, you can't fake reaction.
"When something's good, you know it and that was powerful. It was joyous and let me tell you something, what you do is so much better than sitting in a bedroom playing video games.
"This was a big step up from your audition in my opinion and every one of you should be feeling proud of yourselves."
