A BOY has been banned from Asda after spitting at staff.
Police were called to reports of teenagers being abusive towards staff at the Barons Quay supermarket.
During the incident, on Tuesday (May 14), one of the youths was seen spitting at staff.
After reviewing CCTV footage, a 15-year-old boy from Leftwich was identified.
Having been interviewed by police, he has now been released under investigation and is banned from entering Asda.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At 7.12pm on Tuesday, police were called to reports of youths being abusive towards staff at Asda, Northwich.
“During the incident one of the youths was seen spitting at staff and merchandise.
“Following enquiries, officers identified a 15-year-old boy from Leftwich in relation to the incident.
“The teenager has since voluntarily attended Northwich Police station where he was interviewed under caution on suspicion of criminal damage and assault.
“He has since been released under investigation pending further enquires.
“The boy has also been banned from entering Asda supermarket.”
A spokesperson for Asda added: "We do not tolerate any form of violence or abuse towards our colleagues and have worked closely with the police in their inquiries.”
