A NUMBER of motorists have been banned from the roads this month after admitting to drink and drug-driving.
Martin Biesty, Lee Winnington, Anthony Lawrence and Timothy Leigh are all facing extended periods off the road following their appearances at Crewe Magistrates Court.
Forty-nine-year-old Biesty, of Walnut Avenue, Weaverham, appeared in the dock on May 16 where he pleaded guilty to drug-driving.
He had been driving a Vauxhall Antara on Chelford Road in Macclesfield when he was caught on November 18 last year.
The court heard a blood test revealed he had 436µg/L of Benzoylecgonine (a cocaine breakdown product) in his system, exceeding the 50µg/L limit.
Magistrates handed him a 36-month ban and fined him £120.
Lawrence, of Meadow Road, Weaverham, also appeared on May 16, admitting to drug-driving in a Vauxhall Corsa on Manchester Road in Northwich on December 1, 2023.
His blood test showed the 34-year-old had 126µg/L of Benzoylecgonine in his system.
The bench disqualified him from driving for 12 months, but hit him with a £460 fine.
Thirty-four-year-old Leigh, of Farndon Close, Cuddington, was caught over the drink limit in a Ford Transit van on James Clarke Road, Winsford, on April 19 this year.
A breathalyser test showed he had 92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Leigh appeared before Crewe magistrates on May 16 where he pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
He was banned from driving for 23 months and was fined £875.
Winnington, of McDean Row, Winsford, pleaded guilty to drug-driving at Crewe on May 9.
The court heard the 18-year-old had 3.4µg/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood after he was caught in a Hyundai i30 on Holmes Chapel Road in Middlewich on March 20.
The legal limit for this component of cannabis is 2µg/L.
Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 12 months and handed him a £400 fine.
