A MOTORCYCLIST has been arrested for drink driving.

Officers in Middlewich have arrested the rider of a red Triumph motorcycle after he failed a breath test.

It follows a tip-off from a member of the public at a beat meeting at Morrisons on Friday morning (May 17).

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 10.30am on May 17 officers stopped a red Triumph motorcycle on Beechfield Drive, Middlewich, after receiving information from the public.

“We were made aware of the male after it was mentioned to us by a member of the community at the beat meeting earlier today.

“The rider of the bike failed a breath test and was arrested at the scene.”

The biker blew 73 microgrammes per 100ml of breath, just over double the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

He remains in custody as of 4pm on May 17.
