A NURSERY in Weaverham has been named one of the best in North West England.

The Abbey Nursery on Forest Street is among the top 20 of 1,708 early years settings in the region.

It is the second year running that the pre-school has earned the prize, awarded by daynurseries.co.uk and based on reviews from the children’s families and carers.

Bethan Thorpe, nursery manager, said: “We are delighted to win this award for the second year running and I am so proud of my team for all their hard work and dedication to early years.

“My staff are committed to their role and go above and beyond, they complete additional training to ensure they remain up to date with changes and extend their knowledge within the early years sector."

“We are very child-focused here at The Abbey Nursery School and continuously extend and expand the children’s learning and opportunities to ensure they have a wide variety of experiences in all areas.

Each of the top 20 nurseries in North West England have received an award from daynurseries.co.uk.

The nurseries were rated on overall experience, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding as well as value for money.

Over the past 12 months, 15 reviews have been written for The Abbey Nursery, all of which give it five stars for overall experience.
