A TEENAGER is due in court in connection with drug offences.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested by police in Leftwich last week.
It follows information received from the local community.
A stop and search was carried out in the Clifton Drive area, which resulted in police arresting the juvenile on suspicion of possessing class A and class B drugs – heroin and cannabis.
Having been interviewed by officers, the teenager was released on bail and is due to appear in court soon.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Following intelligence from residents, officers from Northwich attended the Clifton Drive area of Leftwich at 4.50pm on Wednesday (May 8) and arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of possessing class A (Heroin) and class B (Cannabis) drugs.
“The teenager was interviewed and released on bail, he will be summoned to court in due course.”
