TIM Burgess has confirmed the release of new limited edition merchandise.
The Charlatans frontman, who grew up in Northwich, has revealed that 'Sproston Green' hoodies, t-shirts and sweatshirts will go on sale for one day only,
The release, on Tuesday (May 14), marks the 35th anniversary of when the band first wrote the song.
Burgess posted on X: "Next Tuesday.
"The 35th anniversary of when we wrote Sproston Green.
"T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.
"Available to order for 24 hours."
Since its initial release in 1990, Sproston Green has become one of The Charlatans' most popular songs among die-hard fans, having initially been somewhat overshadowed by 'The Only One I Know'.
The band often closes their live shows with Sproston Green and fans have been known to visit the tiny village the song is named after, which can be found near Middlewich and boasts a population of a little more than 250.
