DRIVERS are being warned of long delays on the M6 northbound this afternoon.
One lane has been closed on the northbound carriageway, which has caused an estimated six miles of queuing traffic.
A lorry has broken down causing the congestion from junction 18, for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel, to junction 19, Knutsford.
One lane of four has been closed and delays of around 25 minutes are expected due to the incident.
Traffic monitoring company Inrix reports: "One lane closed and queuing traffic on M6 northbound due to broken down lorry.
"Travel time is around 25 minutes."
