DRIVERS are being warned of an upcoming ten-day road closure in Middlewich.
Cledford Lane, a single carriageway road connecting the town to Sandbach, will be closed from Tuesday, May 7, until at least Friday, May 17.
The area affected will be a four-mile section of the road between the junctions with Faulkner Drive and Bradwall Road.
The closure is for carriageway widening, according to Cheshire East Council.
A spokesman said: “The closure will come into operation on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway.
“It is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 17 May 2024.
“The alternative route will be via Cledford Lane, Bradwall Road, Jones Lane, Brereton Lane, Wren Avenue, Holmes Chapel Road, Holmes Chapel Road Roundabout, Kinderton Street, Leadsmithy Street, Lewin Street, Booth Lane and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
“If you have any enquiries relating to the works, please contact TP Construction on 01829 760812.”
