POLICE have shut a road following a crash.
Emergency services were called to Northwich Road near Bartington this morning following reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service crews found that a vehicle had collided with an electrical post.
One person was trapped in the car, which had turned onto its side.
Firefighters cut the roof of the vehicle off and removed the person who was then handed over to paramedics.
Police arrived shortly after 10am and shut the road.
According to the AA map, as of 1.30pm the road remains closed near the junction with Tarporley Road.
A CFRS spokesperson said: "Fire crews attended the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving an electrical post.
"One casualty was trapped in the vehicle which had overturned on its side.
"Firefighters used cutting tools to remove the roof of the vehicle and safely remove the casualty, who is now in the care of paramedics.
"Police are in attendance and will keep the road closed while they clear the scene."
Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for further information.

It has now been confirmed that a woman in her 60s has been taken to hospital.
