A NORTHWICH man who got behind the wheel after taking cocaine has been banned from driving.
Andrew Raynes, of Townshend Road, Lostock Gralam, was caught in a Mazda travelling along King Street, Northwich, on October 21 last year.
Subsequent blood tests revealed the 54-year-old had 32µg/L of cocaine in his system - more than three times the limit of 10µg/L.
Raynes was also found to have more than 800µg/L of Benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product, in his blood.
The legal limit for this drug is 50µg/L.
Appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on April 12, Raynes pleaded guilty to two counts of drug-driving.
Taking his admission into account, the bench disqualified him from driving for 12 months and fined him £120.
Raynes was also ordered to pay a further £120 in court costs and a 48 surcharge.
