AN EMERGENCY road closure is in place in Northwich due to a ‘large, dangerous tree’.
High winds, which are forecast to continue into the night, mean an unstable tree near the Leicester Street roundabout could pose a risk to drivers and pedestrians.
The closure is affecting the area between Leicester Street roundabout and Venables Road.
A diversion is currently in place, and will remain in place until workers can safely get access to make the tree safe.
A Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) said: “An emergency road closure is in place between Leicester Street roundabout and Venables Rd, Northwich, for a large, dangerous tree near the roundabout.
A diversion is currently in place.
“High winds mean the road will remain closed until it is safe to work on the tree.”
