A MAN has been banned from the roads and must complete unpaid work after being caught drink-driving at McDonald's.
Christopher Latham, of Lodge Drive, Moulton, was stopped at the fast food restaurant in Manchester Road, Northwich, while in a Vauxhall Corsa on March 9 earlier this year.
Police had been tipped off by a member of the public reporting a man 'driving erratically'.
A subsequent breath test revealed the 38-year-old had 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath - more than twice the legal limit of 35.
Latham was arrested and charged with drink-driving, to which he pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court on March 11.
Returning to court for sentencing on April 10, Latham was handed a 12-month community order.
As part of this order, he must complete 100 hours of unpaid work, a six-month course of alcohol treatment, and up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity.
Latham was also disqualified from driving for 46 months, starting from March 11, the date he was handed his interim ban.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £120 and a surcharge of £114.
