A MAN twice caught behind the wheel while on cocaine in just two months is among several irresponsible drivers banned from the roads this week.
Thomas Golden, of Park Lane in Hartford, was first caught on July 31 last year in School Road before repeating the offence on the A533 Kingsmead on October 1.
On both occasions, blood tests revealed the 36-year-old was over the 50µg/L legal limit for Benzoylecgonine (BZE), a breakdown product of cocaine.
In the first instance, Golden had 70µg/L in his system, while on the second occasion, he was found to have 192µg/L in his blood.
He appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on April 2 charged with two counts of drug-driving as well as driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
Golden pleaded guilty to all four offences and was handed an interim driving ban ahead of his sentencing hearing on April 30.
Appearing before magistrates on the same day was Scott Mason, of Dartmoor Close in Winsford, who pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
The 30-year-old was caught above the limit while driving along the A533 in Davenham on March 9 earlier this year.
Mason was given a breath test, which found he had 46mg of alcohol in 100ml of his breath, above the limit of 35.
Taking his plea into account, magistrates disqualified him from driving for 12 months and fined him £380. He was also ordered to pay £120 in costs and a £152 surcharge.
Elsewhere, Joanne Curbishley, of Brakeley Lane, Little Leigh, was also handed an interim driving ban for drug-driving.
The 45-year-old was caught on July 4 last year while driving along the A5300 Knowsley Expressway.
A blood test revealed she had 765µg/L of Benzoylecgonine in her system - more than 15 times the legal limit.
Curbishley pleaded guilty to drug-driving and will return to court on May 1 for sentencing.
Finally, Iain Alexander, of Robinson Lane, Winsford, was caught in Saxon Crossway on October 9 last year with 200µg/L of Benzoylecgonine in his system.
The 32-year-old also appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on April 2 where he admitted drug-driving.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £100. No order was made for costs, but he must also pay a £40 surcharge.
