RESIDENTS are being warned of possible floods around Northwich and Winsford.
Heavy rainfall forecast for Thursday (March 28) into Friday could see water levels in the Rivers Weaver, Ducklow, and Wheelock, and their tributaries rise over the next 24 hours.
The government’s Check for Flooding service says to avoid footpaths and bridges near local water courses, and warns not to attempt to drive through flood water.
The situation will be monitored, and a further update will be issued at 10am on Friday, March 29, or sooner, if required.
A spokesman said: “Flooding is possible at low lying land and roads around the Rivers Weaver, Ducklow and Wheelock and their tributaries from the afternoon on Thursday, March 28.
“Our incident response staff are closely monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue flood warnings if necessary.”
