A DRUNK driver who tried to run off after a crash has been disqualified.
Sen Varghese has been banned from the roads for two years after admitting drink driving.
Police were called to reports of a crash on Sandbach Drive in Northwich on January 20, 2024.
The court heard that one of the drivers involved in the collision ran off and was followed by two officers to a nearby car park.
Varghese, 24, was placed into a police vehicle where he provided an initial roadside breath sample, which found him to be over the limit.
In custody, he provided a follow-up sample of 93 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath, more than double the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Varghese, of Middlewich Road in Northwich, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday (March 15) for sentencing.
District Judge John McGarva disqualified him from driving for 24 months.
However, this can be reduced by 25 per cent if he completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course.
Varghese must also pay a £114 surcharge and £120 in costs, as well as complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
