TRAVELLERS have been given a deadline to vacate a popular tourist attraction.
A group of Travellers have set up camp on the car park at Anderton Boat Lift.
Around 12 caravans arrived at the site, owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council, on Saturday (March 9).
Now, Cheshire Police has issued them with a notice ordering them to leave by tomorrow morning.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At 3pm on Saturday, March 9, the police and local authority were made aware of an unauthorised encampment on the car park at the Anderton Boat Lift.
"Officers attended and found there were around 12 caravans present at the site.
"Police have been paying passing attention to the car park throughout the weekend and on Monday, March 11, a section 61 notice was issued ordering the caravans to leave the site before 10am on Tuesday, March 12."
