A MAJOR road in Northwich closed in both directions due to flooding and an accident has now re-opened.
Traffic has returned to normal on the A556 Lostock Triangle in Rudheath.
Drivers were delayed earlier this morning when the road had been closed both ways from the King Street roundabout to the A559 Manchester Road at Lostock Gralam.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “A car did leave the road after hitting the flooding but there were no injuries."
"If you’re out on the roads, please be extra careful," added a spokesperson for the Northwich policing team.
"Expect spray and possible flooding which could make your journey times longer.
"Plan ahead and leave plenty of time to get to your destination."
Highways England had closed the road due to flooding.
