A MAN has been arrested in Northwich on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in the Peak District.
Cheshire Police made a vehicle stop on Thursday, February 15, and arrested a man in his 50s.
This arrest comes as part of an investigation launched following reports of a stabbing in Baslow, Derbyshire, which took place earlier in the day.
A woman, also in her 50s, has been taken to hospital, however, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
This incident occurred at roughly 2pm on Thursday, with the arrest in Northwich taking place at 5.20pm.
Detectives have said the man and woman were known to each other, and there is no wider risk to the public.
