THE discovery of a large cannabis farm in Winsford has shocked the local community.
A 54-year-old man was arrested following a police raid at a property on Fieldfare.
Officers conducted a search warrant on Sunday, February 4 and found more than 400 plants.
The electricity had been bypassed.
The man has been released under investigation.
One man living nearby said: “No-one had any idea this was going on.
“Local residents are all shocked. This is a quiet residential area.”
The house is now being cleared.
Rubbish is being out into skips in the garden.
Another neighbour added: "It’s a rented house.
“Every room had been stripped bare and used to grow cannabis.
“Even the roof space was being used, with heat being vented out through coils of ducting.
“An upstairs room has been left flooded and wallpaper has peeled from the walls.
“It shows how much heat and moisture was being created."
