A WOMAN was found dead at home by a neighbour who grew concerned, an inquest hearing has heard.
The death of Rebecca Elizabeth McNulty, née Gerrard, will be explored in a full inquest later this year.
Her inquest was formally opened at Warrington Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, before being adjourned.
A coroner heard how Ms McNulty died at her home in Marston on January 7, aged just 44.
She was found by a neighbour who let himself into her address to check on her welfare.
A coroner officer stated the reason for an inquest being requested was due to an ‘unnatural’ cause of death being identified following a post-mortem examination.
Ms McNulty’s identification was confirmed by the neighbour to a police constable following her death, the court heard.
After hearing the brief circumstances of the death, Elizabeth Wheeler, assistant coroner for Cheshire, said: “On the evidence I have heard, I am satisfied the case of Rebecca Elizabeth McNulty requires an inquest.
“I therefore open and adjourn the inquest, which will be heard on June 27.”
